Background: ‘In unity we put our trust’ is a concept about the joining of our two races in Aotearoa; the Maori and Pakeha. It is a twist about ‘which boat did you come in on’ and suggests that to succeed into the future we must sail in the same direction. Without unity and a joint vision for the future this country will wallow in insecurity. Our historical differences currently being dealt with by the Waitangi Tribunal should be finally laid to rest to allow a real motivation for a prosperous and harmonious future.
